Musical Director
Mandy Miller
Mandy has been Head of Music in Lochgelly High School since 1987.
Mandy was awarded an Artist Teacher Diploma in 1997 (Chicago) and Master Teacher Certificate in Choral Music Education in 1999 (Chicago) from Dr Doreen Rao as part of The Choral Music Experience Institute. She regularly teaches on the Faculty of the CME Institute in addition to her role as Executive Director with responsibility for UK and Europe.
Early in 2000 Mandy was awarded The Paul Harris Fellowship by The International Rotary Foundation in recognition of her positive contribution to music making within the community.
She has been Choral Director of Dunfermline Choral Union since 1993 and is thankful for the pleasure and privilege of working with a such an enthusiastic and committed group of singers.
Mandy founded Dunfermline Junior Chorus in 2005. The organisation has gone from strength to strength and now has four choirs and a membership of approximately one hundred young people aged 6 to 17 years. Members of DJC have experienced the thrill of performing in Carnegie Hall, New York, the Royal Festival Hall, London and the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow.
Mandy works enthusiastically at regional, national, and international level to further the cause of music making: Depute Principal Assessor for Higher Music for The Scottish Qualifications Authority; Administrator of The Fife Festival of Music and Artistic Director of Dunfermline Junior Chorus.
Mandy has arrangements of Scottish songs published by international publishers Hal Leonard and Boosey & Hawkes.
Mandy is in great demand as a workshop practitioner in Choral Music Education and is an experienced teacher of choral conducting (in UK, Ireland, Canada, and the USA). In April 2022 she returned to St Louis to undertake her ninth Conducting/Teaching residency with the St Louis Children’s Choirs and Music Teachers in the St Louis district.
She continues to give thanks for a life richly blessed with music making and like-minded friends.

Yvonne Ferguson
Yvonne Ferguson has been the accompanist for Dunfermline Choral Union for over 20 years. Yvonne studied trumpet and piano and was a music teacher by profession for a number of years before moving into her current role as a Principal Teacher of Guidance/Pupil Support. She has been Bandmaster( Conductor) of Bellshill Salvation Army Band since 2013 after ten years as Young People’s Band Leader. Yvonne accompanies the choir at rehearsals and concerts and is held in great affection by choir members.

I’ve been a member of the DCU since Spring 2013, and I’m currently acting as the choir’s treasurer. The choir is an important part of my mental wellbeing. There’s something magical about singing in a group, striving as a team to achieve the great sound that Mandy manages to coax out of us.

Joining DCU in 2022 was one of the best decisions i’ve ever made. I quickly settled into the DCU family and have made so many amazing friendships and bonds which I will forever cherish. Rehearsals are the highlight of my week and the concerts are just the best. I am now the Soprano section representative for the choir and also help with the social media and publicity for the choir and love it! I am so glad I’m able to give back to the choir as DCU really are the light in my life i never knew i needed.

I love being part of the choir and I do the job of Librarian. I have sung with Dunfermline Choral Union since the early 1980s and my enthusiasm and enjoyment of singing have never diminished. Monday nights are choir night and there is nothing better than when we all meet together and make a joyful noise.
