Our first social event of the season was a beetle drive at the Vine.
It was a great fun evening. There was much laughter throughout and loud cheers when someone eventually managed to throw a six. Mary (soprano) had great success this time with her sixes – most probably due to the new shakers and dice!
We had a guest, Frances McCafferty, who although she had never played beetle before, came prepared as she had looked up all the rules beforehand.
It was a most enjoyable evening – light-hearted competition. We had several tables of 5 members and with winners/losers changing tables each game, it was a relaxed way of meeting other members and new members of the choir.
Adding up the scores at the end of the evening proved problematic for some members but Susan (soprano) came out on top with a score of 286 and won a box of Terrys Orange Truffles.
Our next social event is the Christmas quiz on 7th December where Christmas hats and jumpers are welcome.
