Sing with us

Singing with us

Dunfermline Choral Union are a mixed voice choir (Soprano, Alto, Tenor Bass), welcoming singers of any age and background into the DCU family. Our common thread is a love of singing! And being part of a choir can be a powerful therapy; research shows that it reduces stress, gives your body and brain a workout, improves the feeling of well-being and definitely gives you a buzz! Of course you’ll make lots of new friends too, we are a group of over one hundred but very friendly and supportive.

We rehearse on Monday evenings during term time at The Vine in Dunfermline, from 7.15pm until 9pm. Our repertoire ranges from modern and traditional Christmas music to easy listening and show tunes with our spring concert showcasing the best of modern and more well-known classical choral works. If you’d like to join us there’s no audition required, just a commitment to learn the music (practice files are available to help with this) and perform in our Christmas and spring concerts. Our summer term starts after the Spring concert. Usually around two thirds of the choir take part in the Summer concert. We enroll twice a year; from May to July for the first rehearsal of the season in August and also from February for the start of the summer term in March.

For more information please get in touch with our membership secretary Linda Walker using the form below. We look forward to meeting you!

Music must be returned at the end of each concert. The late return of music that we have hired can incur charges for DCU.

In the event you do not sing in a concert, it is your responsibility to return the music as soon as possible to our music librarian.

The choir performs three times a year.
