Spring Concert 2024

Our showcase spring concert is the jewel in our annual programme. With the accompaniment of a full orchestra and guest soloists we perform traditional and contemporary choral works from acclaimed composers.

Symphonic Adiemus by Karl Jenkins

Currently the most performed living composer, Karl Jenkins has changed the way classical music is perceived over the last 20 years. His reorchestration of his Adiemus series to include male voices and full orchestra has given musicians and choirs a work of epic proportions, with a massive symphonic sound. After last years sold out concert of Jenkins’ The Armed Man, Dunfermline Choral Union’s performance of this stunning work is not to be missed.

Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest

One of accomplished composer Dan Forrest’s most highly renowned works, Requiem for the Living is an emotional composition written in the classic style of a Latin mass. Traditionally, a requiem is a prayer for rest for the deceased, but in Forrest’s innovative composition it becomes a plea for rest for those who are struggling through pain in this life. Requiem for the Living has been performed in prestigious locations around the world, including Carnegie Hall in 2014, and Dunfermline Choral Union are delighted to bring its message of peace and hope to their audience.
